Like many new churches, Cornerstone Community Church spent many years meeting in public facilities such as high schools. They had to transport the sound system, musical gear, and other necessities to the facility, set it up, rehearse, worship, then tear everything down and transport it all away-EVERY WEEKEND.
They have built a beautiful new facility in Brooklyn, where it was our privilege to design and facilitate installation of their new sound system comprised primarily of Peavey Sanctuary series sound equipment. |
To allow for the anticipated growth of the church, Cornerstone selected the Peavey Sanctuary series S-32, 32 channel mixer. This mixer is designed with functions designed specifically for houses of worship. It features 32 channels and is made in the USA. |
|
Instead of using typical equipment racks, we had our installer build racks to compliment the design of the sanctuary and sound booth. These racks contain the
connections for the microphones and audio sources from the podium, a keyed on-off switch for the sequential power conditioner which turns all the audio equipment on and off in the proper sequence, as well as wireless receivers (AKG WMS400 series) and sound processors. ![]() The controls for the processors and wireless systems are in good proximity to the sound tech. They are easy to see, and reach for quick adjustment.

Here you see a pair of Peavey Sanctuary Series SSE12M monitor enclosures. Cornerstone has two pair of these, as well as several ImpulseII stand mounted
personal monitors. Three separate monitor sends allows the musicians, soloists, and praise singers to have the sound in their monitors they need to hear. To the right of the right monitor is one of the three floor pockets containing microphone inputs as well as monitor outputs. |
This is a wide view of the podium and front of the church. A double 18" subwoofer is located on the left of the podium. You can also see the three speaker cluster above the center of the podium. |
This is another shot of the center cluster. The center speaker is adjusted to throw the distant far field, while the outside speakers are adjusted for the near field. |

Our thanks to Pastor John Masters (pictured),
Dave-Andy-and Roger Duguid, Jason Bennet (sound tech), Craig Hardcastle (builder), and the many others involved that helped make this a quality, successful sound installation. |
